EAMES MUSEUM This small museum was designed to showcase the furniture designed by Ray and Charles Eames and is located on a cliff overlooking a river. This couple pioneered furniture design as well as films in the fifties and sixties. There is a rooftop deck for enjoying the view with cover in some areas to keep out of the weather. The museum is connected to stairs leading down to the beach and can be enjoyed without entering the structure. The outside of the curve is concrete while the inside is glazed and has a perforate screen to control the lighting on the interior. The interior showcases the furniture by placing pieces on raised platforms around the periphery of the room. A movie viewing area is located at one end with seating originally designed by Eames for airport terminals.
